YVES ZURSTRASSEN - Galerie Valérie Bach, Brussels
Yves Zurstrassen
05.05.2017 - 01.06.2017
Galerie Valérie Bach - Brussel
vernissage 4 mei 5 to 8 pm
Yves Zurstrassen is back for this second exhibition at Galerie Valérie Bach with a new-found amazement of the floating world of colours, mixed with tones of summer and dazzled by the suns of his artistic thought. So would be the intergalactic Argonaut who has reached the formal universe of concepts and chromatic spectra at the end of a journey out of the cradle of the solar system. This emerges from these dazzles and gives us his memories as so many mental undefined visions. This profusion of shapes and full, reliefs and hollows, treated in a flat, sifted through a special technique, mixes the stencil, the famous Japanese Katagami, the red, black and white frames, and the superposition of graphic features.

Using various chromatic vibrations and entangled forms, Yves Zurstrassen translates in his own vision, esoteric and primitive scriptures. This new production is also a synthesis of his previous research; Yves offers a curious proposition combining lyricism and geometry, randomly placing forms on the canvas, creating infinite number of visual possibilities. Although it is difficult not to succumb to the shimmering – often complementary - clashes of colours, there is no decorative purpose for this series but rather an endless untiring search for potential solutions.

The Galerie Valérie Bach is delighted to start May with fireworks of colours like flower bouquets in an endlessly renewed acknowledgement of artistic expression, which is also the mark of sincerity, a permanent oscillation between doubt and certainty.
