Over de kunstenaar

Robbert Van Wynendaele is a painter and draftsman who lives and works in Ghent.  He obtained his masters degree at School Of Arts Ghent (KASK) in 2013.

In his work, a preference for mystery over explicit statements is what captures the attention of the viewer, it engages the public and its imagination. Firmly rooted in classical fine art, he interprets classical aesthetics and techniques with a large interest in the history of his medium.

His universe evolves around the human figure in an unsettling, suggestive way. Situated on a delicate border between common situations and a personal deformed reality of the artist, one will be drawn in by a feeling of strange familiarity.
